Alexander said: "Many of us have received through the post today the latest update regarding the ginormous Whitestone solar 'farm' project that is going to affect every part of Rother Valley.
"Let me be clear, I oppose this plan and I have done from the start - from the miles and miles of solar panels that will cover our productive farmland and green spaces, to the noisy battery energy storage systems.
"I submitted my objections at the developer's first online consultation, alongside hundreds of you. But still the developer is not listening. Tinkering around the edges of their plan is not good enough. It must be stopped, before Rother Valley suffers its worst damage for generations, food security is abandoned and our countryside is industrialised over.

"As a community, we need to stand united on this. We CAN stop the development, but that requires our local Labour representatives to stand up against their national government who tore up the planning rules to let it happen. So far I have seen a lot of fence sitting and weasel words to try and make minor tweaks. That is not good enough. Oppose the plan and stand up for your local residents.
