Recently, I met with Priti Patel, the Home Secretary to discuss the New Plan for Immigration.
We’re taking action with tougher sentences on dangerous and illegal migration, including maximum sentences for people-smugglers into the UK and empowering our Border Forces to take control.
It’s important we take this action to stop those who undermine our legal processes, taking resources away from those genuine refugees who should be helped through our legal asylum channels, this new asylum system will be fair for those in genuine need.
